James Todd McKellar

James Todd McKellar, 85, of Vandalia, IL passed away at 7:35 PM, Monday, February 25, 2019 at Fayette County Hospital.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 04, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church, Vandalia with Rev. Kurt Simon officiating. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 3:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, March 03, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church and one hour prior to services on Monday from 10:00-11:00 AM. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Vandalia, Fayette County Hospital, or S.A.F.E.  Online condolences may be made at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Ltd.

James Todd McKellar was born on October 01, 1933 in Vandalia, IL, the son of Donald and Gladys (Mettler) McKellar. He married Barbara Marie Rahn on December 21, 1957; together they celebrated 61 years of marriage and raised two children. Todd was the owner and partner of McKellar, Robertson, McCarty, & Click Insurance, LTD in Vandalia; Todd’s father founded the agency in 1921, Todd began working along side his father in 1957. He was a United States Navy Veteran, member of the First Presbyterian Church of Vandalia, Vandalia Rotary Club #6490, and previously served 16 years on the board of the First National Bank. Todd enjoyed fishing, traveling, and boating.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara McKellar of Vandalia; son, Michael McKellar and wife, Carol of Elgin; daughter, Meg and husband, Todd Marquardt of Vandalia; grandchildren, Olivia and Hayden Marquardt and Katie, Kristin, and Matthew McKellar.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kay Cameron.
